Common rules for all organizations
Base-running: No run-throughs. Runners have option of sliding into second and third bases. USSSA: Women only can run through second and third bases.
Courtesy runners: Unlimited all divisions. Player running more than once per inning is an out. If a batter's turn to bat comes up while he is on base (as a substitute or courtesy runner) the runner on base is out and he comes up to bat.
Ratings: Ratings of teams will be done for all associations through preliminary vote on the teams and the final ratings of a 3-member Ratings Committee made up of members of different Senior organizations. Final Ratings will be posted on this website in June 2003 and updated every 30 days thereafter.
Out of Order Batter: If a playerıs turn to bat comes up while he is on base (as a substitute or courtesy runner), the runner on base is out and he comes up to bat.
70+ Divisions: play with 11 defensive players in all associations.
Ratings: Preliminary Ratings have been adopted by the National Senior Softball Summit ASA, USSSA, ISA, NSA, SSUSA, SPA, ISSA and the Huntsman Games. Teams placing First or Second in any National or World Championship were moved up one division. Second place teams only moved up if 4 or more teams are in the division. Final Ratings will be decided by the three-member National Ratings Committee on June 15. Appeals will NOT be accepted until after the Final Ratings are posted. Appeals must be made using the form available here and must be mailed to each of the three National Rating Committee Members listed on the form. Appeals MUST include: 2001 and 2002 Rosters, records of at least three major qualifying tournaments, including win-loss and opponents and scores of each game. THESE ARE NOT FINAL RATINGS. Teams are STRONGLY URGE not to make final travel arrangements for any National Championships until the Final Ratings are posted after June 15.
